SPECIAL VFR APPROACH INTO POTOMAC...
Enter Andrews Class-B airspace (Below 2,500, East of Potomac Airfield), shoot their West ILS (111.50) for descent (Runway 01L or 19R), then request Special VFR into Potomac. You can stay with Andrews the whole way and avoid the chaos at National.
| 1. | Tell the Andrew's Radar controller (119.30) your intentions: "Request ILS for descent with a special over to Potomac." |
| 2. | When visual below the schmoo, CANCEL IFR with ADW, but STAY ON FREQUENCY with the controller. (This allows the controller to free up the airspace, for which they will give you a big wet kiss. No really, I mean it). |
| 3. | If you miss the airfield, tell the Andrews controller, they'll pick you back up into the system. (Or shoot you down; one or the other). |
