NEW YORK

Hudson River/Manhattan Skyline & Statue of Liberty aerial tour.

This is a popular flight by pilots around the region and a great candidate Day-Tripper flight.. Plan to give ourself plenty of time though. For most, it takes up a full day. Even though there is a great deal of controlled airspace around New York City, it's still possible to make the sightseeing flight up the Hudson, below the Class B airspace. The Hudson River is something of a VFR corridore where it runs along Manhattan.

A pilot reader who has made this flight many times from Virginia, has prepared a two-page how-to-do-it report called "Sightseeing Flight Up The Hudson River" . In it he outlines where to go, what to do and when to do it,

If you are interested in flying this aerial tour up the Hudson River and would like a copy of the report to help plan your flight, contact me at the Maryland Aviation Administration. I'll be glad to put one in the mail to you or to e-mail you a copy. To get your copy, see box below.
